Right arm pacer Harshit Rana included in India squad for the upcoming 5 match test series against England which is scheduled to begin from June 20 at Headingley. Rana made his test debut for India at Perth last November against Australia and picked 3/48 in first innings and 1/69 in second innings respectively.

He also played second test in Border Gavaskar Trophy but went wicketless. In 5 One Day Internationals he picked 10 wickets with best bowling figures of 3/31 and 3 wickets for 33 runs in only T20I he played against England.

Apart from Rana team India has five specialist fast bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah , Mohammed Siraj , Arshdeep Singh , Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep. The team also had two pace bowling allrounders in Shardhul Thakur and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Harshit Rana who was part of India A squad played in the first unofficial test against England Lions in Canterbury.

He plays for Delhi in domestic cricket and from 13 first class matches he picked 48 wickets with best bowling figures of 7/45. He also had 2 fifties and 1 century under his belt in first class games.

This series will mark the beginning of Shubman Gill as India’s new test captain. He was appointed as India’s 37^th test captain following the retirements of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

First test of the series will be played at Leeds , second test at Brimingham , third test at Lords , fourth test at Manchester and fifth test at The Oval.
