
Sonal Dinusha’s unbeaten 133 from 264 balls helps Srilanka draw the second Test against India in Colombo after a brave final day fight. After following on Srilanka ended the final day at 429/9 in their second innings. Sonal Dinusha was named Player of the Match for scoring twin tons.
Having won the first Test India won the series 1-0.
First Session – Day 5
Aiming to draw the test with just four wickets in hand Srilanka resumed their innings at 229/6 on the final day. Sonal Dinusha and Keshara Nuwantha stayed strong throughout the session giving Srilanka hope of saving the test. They added 100 runs in the session with their partnership reaching 111.

At lunch Srilanka were 329/6 with Sonal Dinusha on 55 and Keshara Nuwantha on 46. Ravindra Jadeja was the only bowler who caused some trouble for Srilanka batters during the first session.
Second Session – Day 5
After lunch India made an early impact by picking up two wickets. Well set Keshara Nuwantha was the first batter dismissed edging the ball to Dhruv Jurel in the opening over after lunch. He scored 46 runs from 150 balls before getting out to Manav Suthar after a patient innings.
Prabath Jayasuriya faced 28 balls and scored two runs before Ravindra Jadeja dismissed him. Sonal Dinusha and Lahiru Kumara took Srilanka to 383/8 at tea. Dinusha was just two runs away from his century while Lahiru Kumara was batting on two at that time.
Third Session – Day 5
In the final session left hand batter Sonal Dinusha hit an outstanding century to save the match for Srilanka. He scored a brilliant 133 runs from 264 balls hitting eight fours and two sixes during his match saving innings. They declared at 429/9 with a lead of 216 runs and both teams agreed to end the test in a draw.

Lahiru Kumara who scored 12 runs from 90 balls was the only batter dismissed during the final session. Asitha Fernando faced 24 balls without scoring a run and remained unbeaten for a hard fought draw.
