BCCI announced 18 member Indian squad for the 5 match test series which is scheduled to begin from June 20^th in England. Right hand batter Shubman Gill will succeed Rohit Shrama as India captain who retires from test cricket recently.

Gill, 25 years and 258 days becomes fifth youngest cricketer to captain India in tests.

Left hand wicket keeper batter Rishabh Pant named vice captain for the side. All-rounder Shardul Thakur and middle order batter Karun Nair recalled to the squad. Karun Nair returning to the squad after 7 years while pacer Mohammed Shami was unfit to make in to the squad.

Jasprit Bumbrah who captained India during the recent test series against Australia was unlikely to play all 5 tests in England due to workload management and that was a factor in him not being given the captaincy , Ajith Agarkar said.

Yashasvi Jaiswal , K.L.Rahul , Shubman Gill , Sai Sudharsan , Abhimanyu Easwaran and Karun Nair are the batters. The team have four all-rounders in Ravindra Jadeja , Nitish Kumar Reddy , Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar.

Pace attack will led by Jasprit Bumbrah along with Mohammed Siraj , Prasidh Krishna , Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh. Harshit Rana who was in the squad for the last series against Australia not included in the squad. Kuldeep Yadhav back to the squad as a frontline spinner.

First test of the series will be played at Leeds , second test at Brimingham , third test at Lords , fourth test at Manchester and fifth test at The Oval.
