14^th June 2025 will remain one of the greatest moments in South Africa cricket history with ICC World Test Championship title. They beat defending champions Australia by 5 wickets at Lords , Home of Cricket to end their 27 year long wait for an ICC Trophy.

Aiden Markram who played an innings of his life with 136 runs from 207 balls with 14 fours led South Africa to a historic chase. Temba Bavuma (66 runs from 134 balls) innings also made the chase easier for Proteas.

Needed 69 more to win on final day South Africa lost their captain Temba Bavuma early. He edged one to Alex Carrey off Pat Cummins. They also lost Tristan Stubbs (8 runs from 43 balls) to Mitchell Starc when 41 more runs needed.

Aiden Markram (136 runs from 207 balls) and David Bedingham (21* runs from 49 balls) partnership of 35 runs from 63 balls for the fifth wicket. Markram got out to Josh Hazlewood when they need 6 more to win.

David Bedingham (21* runs from 49 balls) and Kyle Verreynne (4* runs from 13 balls) remains unbeaten. Mitchell Starc (3/66 in 14.4 overs) , Josh Hazlewood (1/58 in 19 overs) and Pat Cummins (1/59 in 17 overs) are the wicket takers for Australia.

South Africa pulled off this win after conceding 74 run first innings lead. They bowled out for just 138 in reply to Australia’s 212. Mitchell Starc 58* runs helps Australia to reach 207 and set South Africa 282 run target. At one stage Australia were 73/7.

South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada took 5 wicket in first innings and 4 in the second innings while Australia captain Pat Cummins took 6 wickets in first innings and 1 in second.
