Aiden Markram (102* runs from 159 balls) and Temba Bavuma (65* runs from 121 balls) unbeaten partnership of 143 runs from 232 balls for the third wicket put South Africa just 69 runs away from ICC World Test Championship title at the end of day 3.

Resuming the overnight score of 144/8 Australia lost Nathan Lyon (2 runs from 13 balls) early. He was trapped in front of the stumps by Kagiso Rabada in the third over of the day.

Mitchell Starc (58* runs from 136 balls) who hit his 11^th half century and No.11 batter Josh Hazlewood (17 runs from 53 balls) partnership of 59 runs from 135 balls helps Australia to set 282 run target for South Africa.

Aiden Markram finally end Australia innings by dismissing Josh Hazlewood. Starc dropped by Marco Jansen in Gully in the last over of Day 2’s play when he was batting on 14. He went on to score 58 runs and remains unbeaten.

Pacer Rabada once again shines with the ball for South Africa by picking 4 wickets for 59 runs in his 18 overs. Lungi Ngidi (3/38 in 13 overs) , Aiden Markram (1/5 in 2 overs) , Wiaan Mulder (1/18 in 8 overs) and Marco Jansen (1/58 in 18 overs) are the other wicket takers for South Africa.

Left arm pacer Mitchell Starc once again provided Australia early breakthrough. Ryan Rickelton edged one off Mitchell Starc to wicket keeper Alex Carrey for 6. Markram and Mulder put together 61 run partnership from 63 balls for the second wicket before Starc again broke the partnership by dismissing Mulder for 27.
