Royal Challengers Bengaluru beat Punjab Kings by 6 runs and end their IPL trophy drought after 18 years. Batted first , RCB set Punjab Kings and restrict them to 184/7 in 20 overs. Krunal Pandya named Player of the Match for his outstanding spell of 4 for 17 in his 4 overs.

RCB opener Phil Salt (16 runs from 9 balls) given his team a quick start but his innings didn’t last long , he mistimed one shot off Kyle Jamieson which was caught by Shreyas Iyer at Mid-On. Virat Kohli (43 runs from 35 balls) and Mayank Agarwal (24 runs from 18 balls) put together 38 runs from 28 balls for the second wicket before Chahal dismissed Agarwal after powerplay.

Captain Rajat Patidar (26 runs from 16 balls) , Liam Livingstone (25 runs from 15 balls) , Jitesh Sharma (24 runs from 10 balls) and Romario Shepherd (17 runs from 9 balls) innings took RCB to 190/9 in 20 overs.

Arshdeep Singh (3/40 in 4 overs) , Kyle Jamieson (3/48 in 4 overs) , Vijayakumar Vyshak (1/30 in 4 overs) , Azmatullah Omarzai (1/35 in 4 overs) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1/37 in 4 overs) are the wicket takers for Punjab Kings.

Priyansh Arya (24 runs from 19 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (26 runs from 22 balls) given decent start in the chase by scoring 43 runs in 5 overs before Phil Salt took a brillant catch at the boundary line off Josh Hazlewood to dismiss Priyansh Arya.

Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis (39 runs from 23 balls) added 29 runs for the second wicket before RCB dismissed Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer (1 run from 2 balls) in consecutive overs to push Punjab Kings back.

Left arm spinner Krunal Pandya then took the price wicket of Josh Inglis after he made 39 runs from 23 balls including 1 four and 4 sixes. RCB tighten the grip by picking the wickets of Nehal Wadhera (15 runs from 18 balls) , Marcus Stoinis (6 runs from 2 balls) and Azmatullah Omarzai (1 run from 2 balls).

Shashank Singh (61* runs from 30 balls) played a scintillating knock at the end but Punjab Kings fell short by 6 runs.

Spinner Krunal Pandya bowled a match winning spell for RCB by picking 2 wickets for 17 runs in his 4 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/38 in 4 overs) , Yash Dayal (1/18 in 3 overs) , Romario Shepherd (1/30 in 3 overs) and Josh Hazlewood (1/54 in 4 overs) are the other wicket takers for RCB.
