Trailing the five match test series 2-1 , team India aims to square the series at The Oval. England captain Ben Stokes ruled out of the final test with shoulder injury. It will be a great achievement for this inexperienced team if they bounce back to level the series.

How the series goes

England beat India by 5 wickets in first test played at Leeds. Ben Duckett (149 runs from 170 balls) outstanding innings helps England chase down 371 run target on the final day with 5 wickets remaining. India became the first team to lose a test match after five individual centuries.

India beat England by 336 runs in second test played at Edgbaston. It is India’s first win at Edgbaston and they done it in style. Shubman Gills double century (269 runs from 387 balls) in first innings and century (161 runs from 162 balls) in second innings , Mohammed Siraj (6/70 in 19.3 overs) and Akash Deep (6/99 in 21.1 overs) helps India level the series.

In a thrilling final days play England beat India by 22 runs at Lords. Chasing 193 run target India bowled out for 170 in fourth innings. After losing 8 wickets for 112 runs , Ravindra Jadeja’s (61* runs from 181 balls) fight along with Bumrah and Siraj gives India hope. England somehow managed to pull things back. Ben Stokes (44 , 2/63 & 33 & 3/48) allround performance earned him Player of the Match.

At Manchester team India bounce back on final days play after conceding 311 runs first innings lead. K.L.Rahul (90 runs from 230 balls) , Shubman Gill (103 runs from 238 balls) , Washington Sundar (101* runs from 206 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (107* runs from 185 balls) helped India pulled off a great fight back to draw the test to keep series alive.

Team News – India – Pant , Bumrah misses

Wicket keeper batter Dhruv Jurel will replace injured Rishabh Pant. Akash Deep will replace star pacer Jasprit Bumrah who will be rested to manage his workload. Left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh or Prasidh Krishna will come in place of last test debutant Anshul Kamboj. Most probably Kuldeep Yadhav have to sit out again.

Ben Stokes ruled out due to injury and Ollie Pope will lead England in his absence. Jacob Bethell replaces Stokes in playing XI. Pacer Jofra Archer ,Brydon Carse and Liam Dawson misses out. Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton return to the playing XI.
