Harleen Deol’s unbeaten 70 helps Gujarat Giant chase down 178 run target against Delhi Capitals in the final over with 5 wickets remaining. Gujarat Giants now stands second and Delhi tops the point table.

Delhi Capital openers Meg Lanning (92 runs from 57 balls) and Shafali Verma (40 runs from 27 balls) given Delhi off to to good start by scoring 83 runs in 9 overs before Meghna Singh dismissed Shafali Verma.

Delhi Capitals then lost Jess Jonassen (9 runs from 10 balls) , Jemimah Rodrigues (4 runs from 8 balls) and Annabel Sutherland (14 runs from 8 balls) cheaply. Captain Meg Lanning’s outstanding innings took them to 177/5 in 20 overs.

Meghna Singh picked 3 wickets for 35 runs in her 4 overs and Deandra Dottin picked 2 wickets for 37 runs in her 4 overs for Gujarat Giants.

Chasing 178 run target Gujarat Giant opener Dayalan Hemalatha (1 run from 7 balls) once again disappoints this season. She got out to Shikha Pandey in the second over of the innings. Opener Beth Mooney (44 runs from 35 balls) and Harleen Deol (70* runs from 49 balls) kept them in the chase with 85 run partnership in 57 balls for the second wicket.

Spinner Minnu Mani broke the second wicket partnership by dismissing Beth Mooney. Harleen Deol along with Ashleigh Gardner (22 runs from 13 balls) and Deandra Dottin (24 runs from 10 balls) added valuable 39 and 34 runs for the third and fourth wicket.

Gujarat Giants chase down the 178 run target in the final over with 3 balls and 5 wickets to spare.
