Rajeev Shukla , Ashish Shellar named BCCI representative on ACC Board

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shellar as their representative on the Asian Cricket Council Board.

Rajeev Shukla will represent the BCCI as an Excecutive Board Member on the ACC Board, while Ashish Shellar has been named as the Ex-Officio Board Member.

Jay Shah taking over as the chair of the International Cricket Council (ICC) , his position as the President of the ACC Board became vaccant.

“BCCI would like to inform about updates regarding its representation on the Board of Directors of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). With Mr.Jay Shah taking over as the Chair of International Cricket Council (ICC), his position on the ACC Board become vacant. Till recently he was President, ACC.

“Mr.Rajeev Shukla will represent the BCCI as an Executive Board Member on the ACC Board. Mr.Ashish Shellar will be the BCCI representative on the ACC Board as the Ex-Officio Board Member,” BCCI announced.

“On behalf of the BCCI Office Bearers and Apex Council , we wish both of them a successful tenure as the ACC works towards promoting , developing and strengthening cricket in Asia,” a statement from BCCI.

Shammi Silva , the President of Srilanka cricket succeeded as the new head of ACC. He previously served as the chairman of ACC’s finance and marketing committee.

The ACC board’s tough task ahead is to conduct the upcoming Asia Cup scheduled to be held in September in T20I format.

India is in originally to host the Asia Cup but there could be a change in plan if Pakistan refuse to travel to India. In that case tournament will be shifted to Srilanka or UAE.

Rain played a major part in last edition of Asia Cup held in Srilanka , UAE is likely to host the Asia Cup which will be in T20 format.
