Situation still unclear about India captain Rohit Sharma travelling to Pakistan for the ICC’s official captains call to ring in the 2025 Champions Trophy.
The captains event, which as per practice happens in the host country , is tentatively scheduled around February 16 and 17 in Karachi. BCCI yet to give official communication on it.
Due to Political tension between two countries India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since 2012. Last time India toured Pakistan was way back in 2008 when they participated in Asia Cup.
While Pakistan travelled to India to play 2016 ICC T20 World Cup and 2023 ODI World Cup.
“It [Rohit travelling to Pakistan] has not yet been discussed. It is not on the agenda yet,” Devjit Saikia , the BCCI newly appointed secretary , told espncricinfo.
International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in hybrid model and neutral venues. All India – Pakistan games in 2024-27 ICC events cycle will be played at neutral venues.

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) refused to travel to Pakistan citing safety concerns as primary reason. The neutral venue arrangements are designed to ensure smooth logistical operations and safety for all teams and fans.
