
Beaten South Africa women by 40 runs England Women reach the T20 World Cup final where they will face Australia. England women batted first, scored 169 for 5 and then held South Africa to 129 for 8 in reply. Nat Sciver Brunt won Player of the Match after scoring a brilliant 75 runs from just 47 balls.

England Innings
England lost three wickets inside four overs and scored only 23 runs as their batters made a poor start. Amy Jones scored 2, Danni Wyatt Hodge made 12 and Alica Capsey added 1 before Proteas dismissed them early. Pacers Shabnim Ismail took two wickets while Marizanne Kapp claimed one.

Captain Nat Sciver Brunt and Heather Knight added 133 runs from 90 balls to put England in a strong position. Sciver Brunt scored 75 runs from 47 balls while Heather Knight made 58 runs from 47 balls. Both batters fell to left arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba.
At the end of 20 overs England reached 169 for 5 after recovering well from an early batting collapse.

Openers Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits gave South Africa a good start in the chase with a 43 run opening partnership. Lauren Bell gave England their breakthrough by dismissing Laura Wolvaardt in the final over of the powerplay. She scored 17 runs from 15 balls.

After the first wicket fell England bowlers kept taking wickets regularly and put South Africa under constant pressure. Only opener Tazmin Brits stood out for South Africa with a fighting 51 runs from 45 balls in the run chase. Finally England restricted South Africa to 129 for 8 in 20 overs and sealed a comfortable 40 run victory.
With this win England will now face Australia in the T20 World Cup final.
