Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals in a thrilling final to clinch their second WPL title. They chased down a record target of 204 in the final with six wickets and two balls remaining. This is Delhi Capitals fourth straight final loss since the tournament started.
Captain Mandhana who scored 87 runs off 41 balls was named Player of the Final for her match winning knock.

Smriti Mandhana’s RCB won the toss and elected to field first.
Delhi Capitals Innings
Openers Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma gave Delhi a good start in the powerplay after a quiet first three overs. They added 49 runs for the first wicket in 5.5 overs before Arundhati Reddy dismissed Shafali for 20. Lizelle Lee attacked the RCB bowlers, scoring 37 off 30 balls before falling to Nadine de Klerk.

Jemimah Rodrigues played a captain’s knock with Laura Wolvaart to put Delhi in a position to set big target. Both added 76 runs off 51 balls for the third wicket. Jemimah scored 57 runs off 37 balls, hitting eight fours in her impressive knock.

Chinelle Henry’s late cameo of an unbeaten 35 off just 15 balls helped Delhi set a 204 run target. South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt played an invaluable knock of 44 runs off 25 balls.

RCB Innings
Chasing a 204 run target, RCB lost Grace Harris early as Chinelle Henry dismissed her for 9. Smriti Mandhana and Georgia Voll put together a record 165 run partnership off 92 balls for the second wicket. The partnership put RCB on course to chase down the target.

Spinner Minnu Mani finally broke the stand by dismissing Georgia Voll for 79. Nandhani Sharma then dismissed the dangerous Richa Ghosh for 6.
Chinelle Henry ended Mandhana’s excellent innings when RCB needed 13 more runs to win off nine balls. She scored 87 runs off 41 balls, including 12 fours and 3 sixes.
With 10 runs to defend in the final over, Jemimah gave the ball to left arm spinner Shree Charani. After two singles off the first two balls, Radha Yadhav hit consecutive fours off the third and fourth deliveries to give RCB a thrilling final over win.
