India need 58 more runs to win with 9 wickets in hand

India required 58 more runs to win , with 9 wickets in hand at the end of day 4 of second test. K.L.Rahul (25* runs from 54 balls) and Sai Sudharsan (30* runs from 47 balls) were at the crease for India.

West Indies were thanks to the 79 run 10th wicket partnership between Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales to set India 121 run target. Greaves remains unbeaten on 50 and Seales scored 32.

Day 4 – First session

Campbell and Shai Hope resumed West Indies innings at 173/2 overnight. They looked to extend their strong third wicket partnership. Both shown resilience after India enforced follow on.

Left hand batter Campbell, who resumed on 87 , struck his maiden Test century with a composed knock under pressure. Ravindra Jadeja finally broke the 177 run partnership by dismissing Campbell for well made 115. He hit 12 boundaries and 3 sixes in his innings.

Shai Hope (92*) and captain Roston Chase (23*) guided West Indies to 252/3 at lunch , without loosing any further wicket.

Day 4 – Second Session

In this session Shai Hope went on to hit his third test century. His first two centuries came against England in 2017 , both scored in the same match at Headingley. In his knock of 103 , he struck 12 fours and 2 sixes.

West Indies then lost Tevin Imlach (12) , captain Roston Chase (40) , Khary Pierre (0) and Jomel Warrican (3) in quick succession. Left arm spinner Kuldeep Yadhav took 3 out of it , while Bumbrah clean bowled Jomel Warrican.

Jasprit Bumrah delivered another beauty , dismissing Anderson Philip for 2. Philip edged one to wicket keeper Dhruv Jurel.

Justin Greaves (35* off 55) and Jayden Seales (18* off 38) fights for West Indies with 50 run partnership from 74 balls so far.

Day 3 – Third Session

The final pair added 29 more runs before Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Jayden Seales for 32. West Indies were bowled out for 390 , setting India 121 run target.

Wicket Takers India

Jasprit Bumbrah (3/44 in 17.5 overs) , Kuldeep Yadhav (3/104 in 29 overs) , Mohammad Siraj (2/43 in 15 overs) , Washington Sundar(1/80 in 23 overs) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/102 in 33 overs) are the wicket takers for India.

India 2nd innings

Chasing 121 run target , India lost in form batter Yashasvi Jaiswal for 8. Left arm spinner Jomel Warrican claimed the wicket in his very first over.

K.L.Rahul and Sai Sudharsan took India to 63/1 at end of day’s play. Both so far added unbeaten 54 runs for the second wicket.

Wicket Taker West Indies

Jomel Warrican (1/15 in 7 overs) is the only wicket taker for West Indies so far.
