Team India hold their nerve to defeat Srilanka in a thrilling Super Over finish in Asia Cup. India set Srilanka 203 run target and restrict them to 202/5 in 20 overs. In Super over Srilanka bowled out for 2 runs and India achieved target in first ball.

India Innings
A blazing knock of 61 runs from 31 balls from Abhishek Sharma gave India the perfect start despite the early loss of Shubman Gill (4 runs from 3 balls) wicket. Maheesh Theekshana took a brillant caught and ball to dismiss Gill in second over of the innings.

Abhishek Sharma and Suryakumar Yadhav build a crucial partnership for the second wicket that steadied Indian innings. Both put together 59 runs from 33 balls before Wanindu Hasaranga gets better of Suryakumar Yadhav , who scores 12.
There was no stopping for Abhishek Sharma , but he was finally dismissed by Asalanka for 61. India’s power play hero hit 8 fours and 2 sixes in his scintillating knock. Tilak Varma (49* runs from 34 balls) and Sanju Samson (39 runs from 23 balls) added 66 runs for the partnership , keeping India in control.
Dasun Shanaka struck to remove Sanju Samson , ended his brisk knock. Axar Patel’s 21 combined with Tilak Varma’s knock to forge a 40-run unbeaten partnership from 23 balls helps India finish on 202/5 in 20 overs.
Wicket Takers Srilanka
Charith Asalanka (1/18 in 2 overs) , Dasun Shanaka (1/23 in 2 overs) , Maheesh Theekshana (1/36 in 4 overs) , Wanindu Hasaranga (1/37 in 4 overs) and Dushmantha Chameera (1/40 in 4 overs) are the wicket takers for Srilanka.
Srilanka Innings
Despite loosing Kusal Mendis to Hardik Pandya on the very first over , Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera gave Srilanka a perfect start in the chase. Their 127 run partnership gave Srilanka the momentum needed and put them in a commanding position.
Varun Chakravarthy provided India with a key wicket , sending Kusal Perera back to the pavilion. His quickfire 58 runs from 32 balls put Srilanka in the hunt. Following Perera’s dismissal , Kuldeep Yadhav and Arshdeep Singh struct to remove Asalanka and Kamindu Mendis putting Srilanka under pressure.

A spectacular knock 107 run knock from 58 balls by Pathum Nissanka powered Srilanka’s chase. Their hopes took a blow as Nissanka was dismissed by Harshit Rana in the final over , needing only 12 more runs.
They managed to score only 11 runs in the final over , and the match ended in a tie , leading to a super over.

Left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh dominated the Super over , removing Shanka and Perera for ducks , and Srilanka could manage only 2 runs. Kamindu Mendis scored 1 run , with their other run coming via a wide.
India’s super over chase saw Gill and Suryakumar at the crease , with the captain sealing victory on the first delivery.
