India beat Pakistan comfortably by 6 wickets in Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2025. India chased down 172 run set by Pakistan in the 19th over of the innings. Abhishek Sharma named Player of the Match for his blistering innings of 74 runs from 39 balls.
Toss
India won the toss and elected to field first.
Pakistan Innings
Openers came to bat with a positive mindset and they showed their intentions early on. Sahibzada Farhan was lucky that he was dropped by Abhishek Sharma off Hardik Pandya when he was batting on zero.

Hardik Pandya gives Pakistan first blow by dismissing dangerous looking Fakhar Zaman. He scored 15 from 9 balls before he edged one to wicket keeper Sanju Samson. Sahibzada Farhan took the attack to the Indian bowlers and put together 72 runs from 49 balls for the second wicket with Saim Ayub.

Shivam Dube broke the second wicket partnership by dismissing Saim Ayub for 21. He was also lucky that Kuldeep Yadhav dropped a simple catch off Varun Chakravarthy. Indian bowlers were able to kept things tight from 11th to 17th overs. in that period Pakistan scored only 38 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
Dube picked 2 wickets for giving just 16 runs in his first 3 overs. He took the wicket of Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan. His spell helps India make a strong comeback in to the game.
42 runs scored in the final 3 overs helped Pakistan to reach 171/5 in 20 overs.
Wicket Takers – India
Shivam Dube (2/33 in 4 overs) , Hardik Pandya (1/29 in 3 overs) and Kuldeep Yadhav (1/31 in 4 overs) are the wicket takers for India.
Varun Chakravarthy went wicketless but he bowled an economical spell. He given just 25 runs in his 4 overs.

Uncharacteristically Jasprit Bumrah leaked runs in this match. 45 runs scored in his 4 overs without any wicket.
India Innings
Abhishek Sharma (74 runs from 39 balls) and Shubman Gill (47 runs from 28 balls) given India strong start in the chase with 105 run partnership from 9.5 overs. Faheem Ashraf them bowled a beautiful delivery to dismiss Gill.

India then lost Suryakumar Yadhav for 0 , Abhishek Sharma for 74 and Sanju Samson for 13 cheaply. Tilak Varma (30* runs from 19 balls) helps India chase down the target easily at the end. Hardik Pandya (7* runs from 7 balls) remains unbeaten along with Tilak.
