India will face Pakistan in Asia Cup super 4 clash today (21-Sep-25) at Dubai International Cricket stadium , Dubai. The high intensity match will begin at 08:00 PM , IST.

Group Stage Match and Hand Shake issue

India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets when both teams met each other in group stage fixture. During the toss of that match both team captains (Suryakumar Yadhav , India and Salman Ali Agha , Pakistan) didn’t shake hands. After the match also there was no hand shake between the teams nor even with match officials.

As per the reports , Andy Pycroft who is the match referee instructed both teams not to shake hands at the toss due to political tension between both countries. India captain later said their actions were aligned with BCCI and Government advice.

Mike Hesson , Pakistan coach expressed disappointment. PCB demanded that Pycroft should be removed as match referee for rest of the tournament. He later apologized for what happened and referring to it as a “miscommunication”.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) retained him as a Match Referee for the upcoming Super 4 clash between India and Pakistan.

Team News – India

India will bring back Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy in the playing XI. Unfortunately left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana need to sit out.

Axar Patel who injured his head during the match against Oman is fine and available for selection.

Pakistan recalled Haris Rauf and Khushdil Shah in place of Sufiyan Muqeem and Faheem Ashraf in their last match against UAE. They may continue with the same playing XI. Saim Ayub and Hasan Nawaz is desperate for runs.
