Mumbai Indians beat Gujarat Giants comfortably by 5 wickets and register their first win in Women Premier League 2025. Mumbai bowled out Gujarat Giants for 120 runs and chase it down in 16.1 overs with 5 wickets remaining.
Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and put Gujarat Giants in to bat first. Gujarat Giants lost Beth Mooney (1 run from 3 balls) , Laura Wolvaart (4 runs from 7 balls) , Dayalan Hemalatha (9 runs from 11 balls) , Ashleigh Gardner (10 runs from 10 balls) and Deandra Dottin (7 runs from 6 balls) for just 43 runs on the board in 8.2 overs.

West Indies allrounder Haylee Mathews took three wickets for just 16 runs in her 4 overs lead the bowling for Mumbai Indians. Amelia Kerr (2/22 in 4 overs) , Nat Sciver-Brunt (2/26 in 4 overs) , Shabnim Ismail (1/17 in 4 overs) and Amanjot Kaur (1/17 in 2 overs) are the other wicket takers for Mumbai Indians.
Chasing 121 run target Mumbai Indians lost their opener Hayley Mathews (17 runs from 19 balls) inside the power play. Left arm spinner Tanuja Kanwar dismissed her in the fourth over of the innings. At the end of the powerplay they were 37/1.

After the powerplay Mumbai Indians lost Yastika Bhatia (8 runs from 10 balls) and Harmanpreet Kaur (4 runs from 2 balls) quickly. Nat Sciver Brunt (57 runs from 39 balls) innings guided Mumbai Indians to register their first win.

New Zealand cricketer Amelia Kerr scored 19 runs from 20 balls. Sajeevan Sajana (10* runs from 6 balls) and G Kamalini (4* runs from 1 ball) remains unbeaten.
Kamalini , member of India’s Under-19 World Cup winning team becomes the youngest player to debut Women Premier League. She aged 16 years and 213 days.
