Virat Kohli who missed first ODI due to injury and captain Rohit Sharma who is in poor form in all formats for longer period now in focus when India takes on England in second ODI at Barabatti Stadium , Cuttack.

Star batter Virat Kohli suffer a knee issue a night before the first ODI appeared in the nets for batting drill. He was seen in fitness and striking the ball well. India’s batting coach , in a pre match press conference confirmed that Virat Kohli will play the second ODI in Cuttack.

All eyes on India captain Rohit Sharma who is going through the rough patch in his career. He need to find his way back to form in this series before the Champions Trophy. Rohit Sharma who return to this format after 5 months scored only 2 runs in first ODI.

“Sometimes, a player might have a lean patch, but that doesn’t worry me. Yes, in the Australia Test match, it was tough , and he got out early, but in ODIs he has been performing consistently. So there is no real concern about his form,” Batting coach said about Rohit Sharma.

Selection dilemma for India when Kohli return to the playing XI. Shreyas Iyer who find a place in the playing XI played a crucial role when India chasing 249 run target set by England. Shreyas Iyer scored 59 runs from 36 balls including 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Most probably England will not make any changes in their batting order despite being bowled out for 248 in first ODI. England may bring experienced bowler Mark Wood in their playing XI.

So far 19 ODIs played in Barabatti Stadium , Cuttack. Team batted first won 7 times and team batted second won 12 times.
