India captain Rohit Sharma is all set to join team India during the third day of first test in Perth. His departure to Australia was delayed due to the birth of his second child.
Rohit will play two day warm up game against Prime Minister XI at Canberra Manuka Oval from Nov 30 – Dec 1 before Day – Night test which will be played in Adelaide.

In his absence vice captain Jasprit Bumrah will lead team India in first test. “I spoke to Rohit earlier. But I got a little bit of clarity on leading the side after coming in here,” Bu,rah said during press conference.
Bumrah lead India once in one off test match against England in Edgbaston which India lost by 7 wickets. India unable to defend 378 in the fourth innings.
India batter Shubman Gill doubtful for the first test after he injured his left thumb while fielding on Day 2 of the intra-squad match.

India’s top order can be vulnerable without Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. In Rohit’s absence K.L.Rahul may open the batting with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
This series is crucial for India to qualify for the World Test Championship final.
