Former India fast bowler Munaf Patel appointed bowling coach for the IPL franchise team Delhi Capitals. Munaf played for India in all three formats and was part of the 2011 World Cup winning team.

Munaf replaces former Australia medium pace bowler James Hope who quits alongside Ricky Ponting. Last month Delhi Capitals appointed Hemang Badani as head coach and Venugopal Rao as their Director of Cricket respectively.

In IPL he represented for Mumbai Indians , Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Lions , picking 74 wickets in 63 matches with best bowling figures of 5/21.

Munaf Patel retired from competitive cricket in 2018 and had been playing franchise based cricket involving retired cricketers. Recently he played the Indians Veteran Premier League in February 2024.
