IPL 2025 mega auction to take place in Jeddah (Image Credit:- X)

BCCI confirmed that 2025 IPL mega auction will be held in Jeddah , Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. The auction is going to held overseas for the second consecutive year , last year auction was in Dubai.

Out of 1574 players registered for auction , 1165 are Indians with 409 overseas players. South Africa and Australia players lead the list with 91 and 76 registrations respectively.

Unlike regular auction BCCI conducts mega auction once in 3 years. During the mega auction IPL franchises teams build their squads for the next 3 years.

This year auction is a mega one with high profile India players Rishabh Pant , K.L.Rahul , Shreyas Iyer and Arshdeep Singh going for auction.

10 franchises retained 46 players from their 2024 squad. Sunrises Hyderabad player Heinrich Klaasen was the most expensive retention at INR 23 crore while Virat Kohli (RCB) and Nicholos Pooran (LSG) were joint second at INR 21 crore.

Punjab Kings will enter the auction with biggest purse of Rs.110.5 crore while Rajasthan Royals have the smallest purse of Rs.41 crore.
