The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named Harry Brook as captain for the 5 match ODI series against Australia. He will lead England for the first time in his career. Regular captain Jos Buttler ruled out of the series due to calf injury.
Buttler who is recovering from injury missed the T20I series against Australia that ended on 1-1. He hasn’t played for England since the T20 World Cup semifinal against India in July.

Brook who has captained England at the Under-19 World Cup in 2018 was Ollie Pope’s deputy in the recently concluded test series against Srilanka.
Allrounder Liam Livingstone return to the ODI squad after his impressive performance in the T20I series. He picked five wickets and hit 87 runs from 47 balls in the second T20I.
20 year old Josh Hull who made his international debut in the final test against Srilanka ruled out of the ODI series due to quad injury.
