Rahul Dravid appointed head coach of Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals appointed Rahul Dravid as head coach after signing a multi year contract. Dravid ended his tenure as team India head coach by wining the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup in June.

Dravid played and captained Rajasthan Royals between 2011 to 2013 and served as mentor in 2014 and 2015.

As a player Dravid played 89 IPL matches and scored 2174 runs at an average of 28.23 with strike rate of 115.52.

“After the World Cup , I feel it’s the ideal time for me to take on another challenge , and the Royals is the perfect place to do that,” Rahul Dravid said.

“The former Royals captain and coach spent 5 seasons with the franchise from 2011 to 2015 , and will commence with the team immediately, working with Royals director of cricket Kumar Sangakkara to implement the franchise’s over all cricketing strategy,” Royals said in a statement.
