Hull to make test debut against Srilanka at The Oval (Image Credit:- X)

20 year old Leicestershire left arm seamer Josh Hull included in England playing XI for the third and final test against Srilanka at The Oval. He will replace Matthew Potts. Currently England lead the 3 match series 2-0.

Josh Hull included in England squad for the last two tests after Mark Wood ruled out due to injury. Hull recently featured in the England Lions fixture against Srilanka and picked up five wickets at an average of 14.80.

Hull so far played 10 first class , 9 List A and 21 T20s and picked 16 , 17 and 24 wickets respectively.

Hull has also been included in England squad for the white ball series against Australia later this month.

At 6’7 , Hull would be keen to use his height as an advantage to generate bounce off the surface and cause Srilanka batters trouble.

“With the height , you can draw in some more edges with that extra bounce. It makes it a lot harder to drive the ball, especially if there is a little bit of bounce at The Oval-which there can be , especially early in the game,” England stand in test captain Ollie Pope said.
