India and Srilanka will face each other for Asia cup final 2023 on September 17th(Sunday) in Colombo. India the most successful team in Asia cup tournament will aim for the 8th title and Srilanka the second most successful team looks for their 7th title.

India’s opening game in the group stage against Pakistan washed out due to rain and they beat Nepal by 10 wickets to enter in super 4 stage. Srilanka on the other hand beat Bangladesh by 89 runs and Afghanistan by 2 runs to enter into super 4.

In the super 4 stage India beat Pakistan and Srilanka but lost to Bangladesh by 6 runs. Srilanka beat Pakistan and Bangladesh but lost to India by 41 runs.

So far 7 times India and Srilanka faced each other in Asia cup final in which India has slight edge over Srilanka by winning 4 times.

India’s Axar Patel and Srilanka’s Maheesh Theekshana ruled out of the final due to injury. Washington Sundar included in the Indian squad in place of Axar Patel and Sahan Arachchige in the Srilankan squad in place of Maheesh Theekshana.

Rain is expected on Sunday. Even though reserve day available for final, umpires will try to complete the match with reduced overs if rain interrupts the match.
