Virat Kohli (69* off 38) and Devdutt Padikkal (61 off 26) powered RCB to chase down 202 against Sunrises in opening clash. They reached the target in just 15.4 overs, sealing a dominant victory with six wickets remaining. Jacob Duffy was named Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance on a flat batting friendly wicket. He claimed three wickets for just 22 runs in his four overs.

Sunrises Hyderabad Innings

New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy pushed Sunrises Hyderabad back by claiming three crucial wickets during the powerplay overs. Abhishek Sharma , Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy were dismissed cheaply, putting Sunrises Hyderabad under early pressure.

Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen’s 97 run stand off 53 balls brought Sunrises Hyderabad strongly back into the contest. Phil Salt’s brillianr boundary line catch ended the partnership, dismissing Heinrich Klaasen for 31 off Romario Shepherd’s bowling.

Playing a captain’s knock, Ishan Kishan smashed 80 off 38 balls, including eight fours and five towering sixes. Once again, Phil Salt’s one handed blinder at the boundary line sent Sunrises Hyderabad captain Ishan Kishan back. Aniket Verma’s quickfire 43 off 18 balls at the end helped Sunrises Hyderabad post 201/9 in 20 overs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Wicket Takers

Jacob Duffy was the standout bowler for RCB, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 22 in four overs.

Romario Shepherd (3/54 in 4 overs) , Suyash Sharma (1/28 in 3 overs) , Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/31 in 4 overs) and Abhinandan Singh (1/38 in 3 overs) are the other wicket takers for RCB.

Left arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat gave Sunrises an early breakthrough by dismissing dangerous Phil Salt for just eight. Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal’s 101 run partnership off just 45 balls firmly placed RCB in the drivers seat. Padikkal played a blistering knock of 61 off 26 balls, smashing 7 fours and 4 sixes in style.

Virat Kohli played a crucial knock bringing up his 64th IPL half century in RCB’s chase. He remains unbeaten on 69 off 38 balls. Captain Rajat Patidar’s 31 off 12 and Tim David’s unbeaten 16 off 10 made RCB chase easy.
