Washington Sundar included in the Indian squad for Asia cup final against Srilanka. He was included in the squad as cover for Axar Patel who got injured in forearm during the last match against Bangladesh.

Axar Patel scored 42 runs from 38 balls in the last match of super 4 in Asia cup 2023 against Bangladesh when India chasing 266. He got out in the 49th over and India lost the match by 6 runs.

Washington Sundar is part of the Indian squad for Asian games which is going to be held in Hangzhou , China. It is likely that he will rejoin the conditioning camp in Bengaluru for Asian games after Asia cup final.
