England hand India their biggest T20I defeat

England beat India by 125 runs and handed them their biggest T20I defeat in a dominant all round performance. England batted first set India a 202 run target and bowled them out for 76 in just 11.4 overs. With this win England took a 2-0 lead in the five match series.

Jofra Archer was named Player of the Match for taking 3 wickets for 29 runs in three overs.

Toss

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first as India looked to make an early impact.

England Innings

After a quiet start Jos Buttler attacked the Indian bowlers scoring 36 runs from 21 balls. Prince Yadhav took Jos Buttler wicket with a perfect yorker on his very first ball. Later Prince Yadhav gave India another big breakthrough by dismissing England captain Harry Brook for 16 runs.

Pacer Harshit Rana dismissed Jacob Bethell and Tom Banton in consecutive balls pushing England back. Opener Phil Salt played an excellent innings scoring 70 runs from 44 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Sam Curran scored an unbeaten 41 from 24 balls helping England finish with a strong total of 201 for 7.

Prince Yadhav (2/30 in 4 overs) , Harshit Rana (2/40 in 4 overs) and Axar Patel (1/49 in 4 overs).

India Innings

Chasing 202, openers Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added 23 before Josh Tonque dismissed Abhishek starting India’s collapse.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was the next to fall as Jofra Archer dismissed him for 13 runs. England bowlers took wickets regularly and bowled India out for just 76 runs.

None of the Indian batters scored above 15 with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan top scoring with 13 each.

Jofra Archer and Josh Tonque rattled the Indian top order with excellent bowling.
