Shardul Thakur triggered Punjab Kings collapse by claiming the crucial wicket of Prabhsimran Singh. From 107 for one at one stage, Punjab Kings dramatically collapsed and slipped to 166 for 8. Azmatullah Omarzai played a valuable cameo scoring 38 runs from just 17 balls.

Tilak Varma and Sherfane Rutherford stitched together a crucial 61 run partnership from 42 balls for the fourth wicket. Sherfane Rutherford innings ended after Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed him for 20 runs from 21 balls. Tilak Varma played a brilliant innings alongside Will Jacks to guide Mumbai Indians home.
For the fifth wicket, they added an unbeaten 56 runs from just 20 balls to seal Mumbai victory. Tilak Varma smashed unbeaten 75 from 33 balls while Will Jacks remained not out on 25 from 10 balls.
