Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar shined in the powerplay by taking three crucial wickets and putting Mumbai Indians under pressure. Ryan Rickelton (2), Rohit Sharma (22) and Suryakumar Yadhav (0) were the batters dismissed. At the end of the powerplay they were 53 for 3.

Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma revived Mumbai Indians with an 82 run partnership off 57 balls. Rasikh Salam broke the partnership by dismissing Naman Dhir for 47 runs, giving RCB a crucial breakthrough. Tilak varma scored another half century, making 57 from 42 balls before Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him in crucial moment.
At the end of the final over, Mumbai Indians finished their innings on 166 for 7.

Krunal Pandya along with Jacob Bethell (27) and Jitesh Sharma (18) built 55 and 37 run partnership to revive RCB chase. Krunal Pandya played a match defining innings scoring 73 from 46 balls with four fours and five sixes. A.M.Ghazanfar took his wicket at a crucial moment when RCB needed 18 more runs to win.

Jasprit Bumrah bowled a brilliant 19th over, conceding just three runs and leaving RCB needing 15 to win in final over. Raj Bawa, who bowled the final over, conceded five extras including three wides and a no-ball hurting Mumbai Indians badly. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s six off the fourth ball made RCB chase easier.
Needing 2 from 1, Rasikh Salam hit it back to Raj Bawa, it deflected from his hands and batters ran two. With this win, RCB moves to the top of the points table.
