Men in Blue beat Netherlands by 17 runs and enter the Super 8 stage unbeaten with dominant performance. Batted first, India set Netherlands a 194 run target and restricted them to 176/7 in 20 overs.

All-rounder Shivam Dube was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance with both bat and ball. He scored 66 runs off 31 balls and claimed two wickets for 35 runs in his three over spell.

Suryakumar Yadhav, the India captain won the toss and elected to bat first.

India Innings

Opener Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for his third consecutive duck in three innings at this World Cup tournament. He was clean bowled by spinner Aryan Dutt on the third ball of the Indian innings. He then dismissed inform batter Ishan Kishan inside the powerplay, restricting him to just 18 runs.

Captain Suryakumar Yadhav built a brief 30 run partnership with Tilak Varma and a 41 run stand with Shivam Dube. Kyle Klein finally removed Suryakumar Yadhav for 34. Tilak Varma scored 31 runs from 27 balls.

Shivam Dube played a scintillating knock of 66 off 31 balls smashing four fours and six towering sixes. His 76 run partnership off 35 balls with Hardik Pandya propelled India to 193/6 in 20 overs. Hardik scored 30 runs from 21 balls.

Wicket Takers

Aryan Dutt bowled an economical spell of 2 for 19 in his four overs. Logan van Beek (3/56 in 4 overs) and Kyle Klein (1/38 in 4 overs) are the other wicket takers for Netherlands.

Netherlands Innings

Openers Michael Levitt and Max O’Dowd gave Netherlands a decent start with a 35 run opening stand. Once again spinner Varun Chakravarthy provided India the first breakthrough by removing Max O’Dowd for 20. Hardik Pandya then dismissed Michael Levitt for 24 in the eighth over, reducing them to 51/2.

Bas de Leede and Colin Ackermann put up a fight with a 43 run stand for the third wicket. Varun Chakravarthy struck twice in an over dismissing Colin Ackermann and Aryan Dutt in consecutive deliveries, pushing Netherlands back.

Bas de leede (33 off 23) , Zach lion Cachet (26 off 16) and noach Crores (25 off 12) were the other main scorer for them. Indian bowlers finally restricted them to 176/7 to clinch a 17 run victory.
