ICC named Shafali as Women Player of the Month for November 2025

Shafali Verma’s match winning performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup final against South Africa earned her ICC Player of the Month. Her 87 from 78 balls helped India set a competitive target of 299 runs in the World Cup final.

Verma surpassed Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong and UAE’s Esha Oza to win the prestigious ICC Women Player of the Month award.

Initially unselected, she was later included as a replacement for injured Pratika Rawal in the semifinal and final. Her 87 was the highest score by an Indian opener in a Women’s World Cup final match ever played.

Not only with the bat, she also shone with the ball, making a valuable all-round impact for the team. She picked wickets of Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp, finishing with figures of 2/36 in seven overs.

“My first ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup experience didn’t go as I expected but it ended far better than I could have ever wished or imagined,” Shafali said.

“I’m grateful that I could contribute to the team’s success in the final and that I was able to be a part of making history in winning the World Cup for the first time and in front of a home crowd.

“I’m truly honoured to be named the Women’s Player of the Month for November. I dedicate this award to my teammates, coaches , family and everyone who has supported my journey until now. We win and lose as a team, the same goes for this award.”

Her all-round performance played a crucial role in helping India clinch their first ever ICC Women’s World Cup title.

Career so far

In her International career so far, she has played five Tests ,31 ODIs and 90 T20Is for India. Verma has scored 567 runs in Tests, 741 in ODIs and 2221 runs in T20Is across her International career.

Next Series

India will play a five match T20I series against Srilanka at home as their next international assignment. Shafali Verma earned a place in the squad.
