India begin their Asia Cup campaign by thumping 9 wicket win over UAE in Dubai. Batted first , UAE bowled out for just 57 and India chased it down in 4.3 overs with 9 wickets remaining. Kuldeep Yadhav named Player of the Match for his outstanding spell of 4/7.

Toss

After loosing 15 toss in a row , India captain Suryakumar Yadhav won the toss and put UAE in to bat.

UAE Innings

UAE openers Alishan Sharafu (22 runs from 17 balls) and captain Muhammed Waseem (19 runs from 22 balls) started confidently for them. Both added 26 runs before Jasprit Bumrah peach of a yorker clean bowled Alishan Sharafu for 22.

Indian bowlers then tighten the grip by picking wickets at regular intervals. UAE batters have no answers to Indian bowlers. From 47/3 at one stage they lost remaining wickets adding just 10 more runs on the board.

They have no clue in Kuldeep’s bowling as he picked 4 wickets for 7 runs in his 2.1 overs was the pick of the bowlers. Shivam Dube picked 3 wickets for 4 runs in his two overs.

Left hand batter Abhishek Sharma begins the Indian innings with a six off Left arm spinner Haider Ali. He becomes the fourth Indian batter to start the innings with a six after Rohit Sharma (vs England in 2021) , Yashasvi Jaiswal (vs Zimbabwe in 2024) and Sanju Samson (vs England in 2025).

Abhishek and Gill attacked the UAE bowlers from ball one and scored 48 runs in 3.5 overs. Junaid Siddique ended Abhishek Sharma’s explosive innings of 30 runs from 16 balls. Captain Suryakumar Yadhav came to bat at No.3 and hit six off the first ball he faced.

Shubman Gill finish the match with a boundary of Simranjeet Singh to give India comfortable 9 wicket win.
