England beat South Africa by world record margin of 342 runs in ODI history in the third and final ODI of the series at Southampton. Batted first , England set South Africa 415 run target and bowled them out for 72 in 20.5 overs.

England Innings

Openers Jamie Smith (62 runs from 48 balls) and Ben Duckett (31 runs from 33 balls) given England off to a good start by scoring 59 runs for the opening wicket. Corbin Bosch provided South Africa the first breakthrough by dismissing Ben Duckett.

Smith and Root added another 58 runs for the second wicket before Maharaj dismissed Jamie Smith for 62.

Centuries from Joe Root (100 runs from 96 balls) and Jacob Bethell (110 runs from 82 balls) put England in a commanding position. Both put together 182 run partnership for the third wicket. Jocob Bethell who hit his first ODI ton finally got out to Keshav Maharaj for 110.

Jos Buttler innings of 62* runs from 32 balls at the end helps England to reach 414/5 in their 50 overs.

Keshav Maharaj (2/61 in 8 overs) and Corbin Bosch (2/79 in 10 overs) are the wicket takers for South Africa.

Chasing 415 run target , South Africa lost six wickets for just 24 runs in first 10 overs of their innings. Opening bowlers Jofra Archer took 4 and Carse picked 2 in first powerplay.

Aiden Markram (0 run from 2 balls) , Wiaan Mulder (0 run from 7 balls) , Ryan Rickelton (1 run from 5 balls) , Matthew Breetzee (4 runs from 10 balls) , Tristan Stubbs (10 runs from 22 balls) and Dewald Brevis (6 runs from 12 balls) are the batters got out cheaply.

Spinner Adil Rashid then picked 3 wickets for 13 runs to end South Africa innings on 72. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma suffered a calf strain and he didn’t came to bat.
