Deepti Sharma 62* guides India to 4 wicket win over England in first ODI

Deepti Sharma (62* runs from 64 balls) helps India beat England by 4 wickets in first ODI at Southampton and goes 1-0 up in the series. India chased down 259 run target set by England in 48.2 overs.

Choose to bat first , England lost their openers Amy Jones (1 run from 7 balls) and Tammy Beaumont (5 runs from 7 balls) inside the first 4 overs for just 20 runs. Both batters got out to pacer Kranti Goud.

Emma Lamb (39 runs from 50 balls) and captain Nat Sciver Brunt (41 runs from 52 balls) steadied the England innings with 71 run partnership from 87 balls for the third wicket. Spinner Sneh Rana broke the stand by dismissing Emma Lamb and later dismissed Nat Sciver Brunt in her next over.

Sophia Dunkley who was the top scorer for England with 83 runs from 92 balls including 9 fours along with Alice Davidson-Richards (53 runs from 73 balls) and Sophie Ecclestone (23* runs from 19 balls) innings helps England to reach 258/6 in 50 overs.

Sophia Dunkley and Alice Davidson-Richards put together 106 runs from 142 balls for the fifth wicket and Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Ecclestone put together 55 runs from 37 balls for the sixth wicket for England.

Sneh Rana (2/31 in 10 overs) , Kranti Goud (2/55 in 9 overs) , Shree Charani (1/46 in 10 overs) and Amanjot Kaur (1/58 in 10 overs) are the wicket takers for India.

India openers Pratika Rawal (36 runs from 51 balls) and Smriti Mandhana (28 runs from 24 balls) gives decent start to the chase by scoring 48 runs for the opening wicket in 8 overs. Lauren Bell broke the opening stand by dismissing Smriti Mandhana.

Sophie Ecclestone clean bowled Pratika Rawal for 36 with a beautiful delivery to produce England second wicket. Harleen Deol (27 runs from 44 balls) ended in bizzare run out as she made a blunder while running towards non-strikers end.

Team India stumbled to 124/4 when Charlie Dean trapped India captain Harmanpreet Kaur in front of the stumps for 17.

Deepti Sharma (62* runs from 64 balls) and Jemimah Rodrigues (48 runs from 54 balls) put India in a winning position with 90 run partnership from 86 balls for the fifth wicket before Lauren Filer dismissed Jemimah Rodrigues.

India then lost Richa Ghosh (10 runs from 12 balls) when she missed the ball while stepped down to hit off Charlie Dean , allowing Amy Jones to take the bails off.

Richa Ghosh and Amanjot Kaur (20* runs from 14 balls) unbroken partnership of 33 runs from 23 balls helps India to chase down the target comfortably in 49th over.

Charlie Dean (2/52 in 10 overs) , Sophie Ecclestone (1/34 in 10 overs) , Lauren Bell (1/40 in 7 overs) and Lauren Filer (1/52 in 9 overs) are the wicket takers for England.
