Ben Duckett’s scintillating innings of 149 runs from 170 balls including 21 fours and 1 six helps England chase down 371 on final day of first test at Leeds against India. This was their second highest successful run chase in test cricket.
Needed 350 more runs to win on the final day, England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley resumes from the overnight score of 21/0 went on to put together 188 run opening stand. Their partnership set the platform for England for the big chase.

Pacer Prasidh Krishna broke the opening stand by dismissing Zak Crawley for 65. He edged one ball to K.L.Rahul who caught it in first slip. England then lost Ollie Pope (8 runs from 8 balls) cheaply also to Prasidh Krishna.
Ben Duckett (149 runs from 170 balls) and Joe Root (53* runs from 84 balls) put together 47 runs for the third wicket before Shardul Thakur’s double wicket over dismissing Ben Duckett and Hary Brook for duck in successive deliveries gives hope to India.
Joe Root (53* runs from 84 balls) , Jamie Smith (44* runs from 55 balls) and Ben Stokes (33 runs from 51 balls) innings at the end helps England chase down the target. England were 69 behind when Stokes got out to Ravindra Jadeja.
