Clinical Sunrises beat CSK for the first time in Chepauk

Sunrises Hyderabad beat Chennai Super Kings comfortably by 5 wickets at M.A.Chidambaram stadium , Chennai. It’s the first time Sunrises beat CSK at Chepauk. They chased down 155 run target set by CSK in the 19th over.

Elected to field first , Sunrises got off to a dream start by dismissing Shaik Rasheed on the first ball of the match by Mohammed Shami. Sam Curran who was back in to the CSK squad failed to make an impact with bat. Harshal Patel dismissed him for 9.

Captain Pat Cummins given Sunrises another breakthrough in the powerplay by dismissing opener Ayush Mhatre who scored 30 runs from 19 balls. CSK were 50/3 at the end of the powerplay.

Dewald Brevis (42 runs from 25 balls) innings including 4 sixes and 1 fours , Deepak Hooda (22 runs from 21 balls) and Ravindra Jadeja (21 runs from 17 balls) dragged CSK to 154. Captain M.S.Dhoni scored 6 runs from 10 balls and got out to Harshal Patel.

Pacer Harshal Patel who picked 4 wickets for 28 runs was the pick of the bowlers for Sunrises. Pat Cummins (2/21 in 4 overs) , Jaydev Unadkat (2/21 in 2.5 overs) , Kaminudu Mendis (1/26 in 3 overs) and Mohammed Shami (1/28 in 3 overs) are the wicket takers for Sunrises.

Sunrises Hyderabad lost their opener Abhishek Sharma for without scoring to left arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed in the first over. Pacer Anshul Kamboj dismissed dangerous Travis Head (19 runs from 16 balls) in the last over of the powerplay to push SRH to 37/2 in powerplay.

Left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja then dismissed Heinrich Klassen for 7 when the score reaches 54 in 8.1 overs. Ishan Kishan who looks in good touch by scoring 44 runs from 34 balls including 5 fours and 1 six got out to spinner Noor Ahmed. Sam Curran took a brillant catch at the boundary line.

The game was evenly poised when Noor Ahmed dismissed Aniket Verma (19 runs from 19 balls) when Sunrises needed 49 runs from 37 balls. Kamindu Mendis (32* runs from 22 balls) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (19* runs from 13 balls) unbeaten partnership of 49 runs from 31 balls took Sunrises home in 18.4 overs.

Noor Ahmed (2/42 in 4 overs) , Anshul Kamboj (1/16 in 3 overs) , Khaleel Ahmed (1/21 in 3 overs) and Ravindra Jadeja (1/22 in 3.4 overs) are the wicket takers for Chennai Super Kings.
