Punjab Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 16 runs in thrilling low scoring match at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium , Mullanpur Chandigarh. They bowled out Kolkata Knight Riders for 95 and successfully defended lowest IPL score of 111.

Elected to bat , Punjab Kings openers Priyanish Arya (22 runs from 12 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (30 runs from 15 balls) given Punjab brisk start. Both together scored 39 runs from 3.2 overs before Harshit Rana dismissed left hander Priyansh Arya for 22.

Punjab Kings then lost wickets at regular intervals and bowled out for the below par score of 111. Apart from openers Shashank Singh (18 runs from 17 balls) , Xavier Bartlett (11 runs from 15 balls) and Nehal Wadhera (10 runs from 9 balls) are the batters apart from openers reached double digit.

Pacer Harshit Rana dismissed top 3 Kolkata batters and finishes with the bowling figure of 3 for 25 in his 3 overs. Sunil Narine (2/14 in 3 overs) , Varun Chakravarthy (2/21 in 4 overs) , Anrich Nortje (1/23 in 3 overs) and Vaibhav Arora (1/26 in 2.3 overs) are the other wicket takers for KKR.

Punjab Kings got perfect start in defending 111 by dismissing both Kolkata openers Sunil Narine (5 runs from 4 balls) and Quinton de kock (2 runs from 4 balls) cheaply. Angkrish Raghuvanshi (37 runs from 28 balls) and captain Ajinkya Rahane (17 runs from 17 balls) steadied the innings with 55 run partnership from 38 balls.

Kolkata Knight Riders collapsed dramatically after Yuzvendra Chahal trapped captain Ajinkya Rahane in front of the stumps for 17. From 62/2 at one stage they bowled out for 95 in 15.1 overs.

Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s excellent bowling in the middle phase rattled the Kolkata Knight Riders chase. He picked the key wickets of Ajinkya Rahane , Angkrish Raghuvanshi , Rinku Singh and Ramandeep Singh and finishes with 4 for 28 in 4 overs.

Marco Jansen (3/17 in 3.1 overs) , Glenn Maxwell (1/5 in 2 overs) , Arshdeep Singh (1/11 in 3 overs) and Xavier Bartlett (1/30 in 3 overs) are the other wicket takers for Punjab Kings.
