Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in a thriller at Arun Jaitley stadium , Delhi. Mumbai made a remarkable comeback after Karun Nair’s scintillating knock of 89 runs from 40 balls. Chasing 206 runs Delhi bowled out for 193 runs in 19 overs.

Mumbai openers Ryan Rickelton (41 runs from 25 balls) and Rohit Sharma (18 runs from 12 balls) given Mumbai off to a decent start with the bat by scoring 47 runs in 5 overs. Rohit Sharma who looks in good touch got out to Vipraj Nigam while attempted to play a sweep shot.

Suryakumar Yadhav’s innings of 40 runs from 28 balls , Tilak Varma (59* runs from 33 balls) and Nama Dhir (38* runs from 17 balls) at the end took Mumbai to 205/5 in 20 overs.

For Delhi Capitals , Kuldeep Yadhav bowled an outstanding spell of 2 for 23 runs in his 4 over. Vipraj Nigam (2/41 in 4 overs) and Mukesh Kumar (1/38 in 4 overs) are the other wicket takers for them.

Delhi lost their Aussie opener Jake Fraser-McGurk in the first ball of the chase to pacer Deepak Chahar. Abishek Porel (33 runs from 25 balls) and Karun Nair (89 runs from 40 balls) put Delhi in comfortable position by scoring 119 runs in 10.2 overs.

Impact player Karn Sharma broke the partnership by dismissing Abishek Porel for 33. Karun Nair made a terrific comeback to IPL after almost a gap of 3 years. In his knock of 89 runs from 40 balls he hit 12 fours and 5 sixes.

Delhi started to lose wickets at regular intervals after Mitchell Santner’s outstanding delivery cleaned up Karun Nair. From 135/2 At one stage Delhi bowled out for 193 in 19 overs. They lost their last 3 wickets to a hat-tricks of run outs.
