Chennai Super Kings lost to Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets on Dhoni’s captaincy return match at M A Chidambaram Stadium , Chennai. KKR restricted Chennai Super Kings to 103/9 in 20 overs and chased it down in 10.1 overs with 8 wickets remaining.

Chennai Super Kings lost wickets at regular intervals and never find momentum in their innings after put in to bat by Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane. CSK lost both openers Devon Conway (12 runs from 11 balls) and Rachin Ravindra (4 runs from 9 balls) inside the power play.

Spinner Sunil Narine shines with the ball for KKR by picking 3 wickets for giving just 13 runs in his 4 overs. He picked the wicket of M.S.Dhoni , Ravindra Jadeja and Rahul Tripathi. Harshit Rana (2/16 in 4 overs) , Varun Chakravarthy (2/22 in 4 overs) , Moeen Ali (1/20 in 4 overs) and Vaibhav Arora (1/31 in 4 overs) are the other wicket takers for KKR.

Shivam Dube (31* runs from 29 balls) innings at the end help CSK to cross the 100 run mark at the end. Vijay Shankar (29 runs from 21 balls) and Rahul Tripathi (16 runs from 22 balls) are the other top scorers in Chennai innings.

M.S.Dhoni who returns as captain got out for just 1 run from 4 balls. Spinner Sunil Narine trapped him in front of the stumps.

KKR openers Quinton de Kock (23 runs from 16 balls) and Sunil Narine (44 runs from 18 balls) given Kolkata brisk start by scoring 46 runs in 4.1 overs. Pacer Anshul Kamboj broke the stand by dismissing Quinton de Kock for 23.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane (20* runs from 17 balls) and Rinku Singh (15* runs from 12 balls) remains unbeaten when KKR chase down the target with 59 balls to spare. This win boost the KKR’s net run rate.

Noor Ahmed (1/8 in 2 overs) and Anshul Kamboj (1/19 in 2 overs) are the wicket takers for Chennai Super Kings.
