Relentless rain in Rawalpindi forced to abandon Australia vs South Africa clash in ICC Champions Trophy without a ball being bowled. Both teams received one point each.

The match was called off 3 hours and 10 minutes after scheduled start of play at 2 PM , local time.

Australia and South Africa now carries 3 points each. If they beat Afghanistan and England in their respective final match they will progress in to the semi-finals.

Australia now placed second position in the group with same points with South Africa , but with lower net run rate of 0.475.

South Africa beat Afghanistan by 107 runs in their first match while Australia chased down 352 run target set by England in their opening match.

Wednesday’s match between Afghanistan and England will be a knockout game , the team loses the match will exit the tournament.

India and New Zealand qualified to the semis from Group A while defending champions Pakistan and Bangladesh Knocked out from the competition.
