India batter Shubman Gill doubtful for the first test after he injured his left thumb while fielding on Day 2 of the intra-squad match. The 5 match test series is set to begin from November 22^nd onwards.

First test at the Optus stadium starting next Friday , the latest injury has put Gill’s participation in doubt. As per report , Gill was seen in considerable pain , forcing him to leave the field immediately for scans.

If Gill not available for the first test , Abhimanyu Easwaran could be in line for the Test debut as India do not have too many options left.

India captain Rohit Sharma’s availability for the first test is still uncertain following the birth of his son. India’s top order can be vulnerable without Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Devdutt Padikkal who was with India A squad in Australia will stay back with the Test squad.

Another batter K.L.Rahul injured during the first day of intra-squad match after being struck in the elbow. He didn’t came to bat later for the day.
