Team India officially out of women’s T20 world cup after Pakistan’s 54 run loss to New Zealand in group stage. Australia and New Zealand qualified to the semis from group A.

For the first time in eight years women in blue out of the world cup without reaching semis. In group stage India managed to win only 2 games out of 4 matches. Their 9 run loss to Australia and New Zeland’s win over Pakistan confirmed India’s early exit.

India started the tournament with 58 run loss to New Zealand and beat Pakistan by 6 wickets and Srilanka by 82 runs. The loss in crucial match against Australia shattered India’s semifinal hopes.

Australia top the group A with 4 wins out of 4 while New Zealand finished second with 3 wins. India finished third with 4 points from as many games.

The 13th edition of women’s 50 over world cup is approaching less than a year , team India need to learn from this disappointment and move forward.
