India women beat Pakistan women by 6 wickets and open the account in women’s T20 world cup 2024. With this win India keep their semi final hopes alive after loosing to New Zealand by 58 runs.

Indian bowlers restricted Pakistan to 105/8 in 20 overs and chased it down in 18.5 overs with 6 wickets remaining. Arundhati Reddy named player of the match for her spell of 3/19 in 4 overs.

Indian bowlers , especially Arundhati Reddy and Shreyanka Patil done a fabulous job to restrict Pakistan to a below par score which helped the batters to chase it down easily.

Renuka Singh bowled a stunning inswinger to dismiss Gull Feroza for a duck in the first over. Nida Dar (28 runs from 34 balls) was the top scorer for Pakistan. No other Pakistan batter crossed the 20 run mark in their innings.

India openers Smriti Mandhana (7 run from 16 balls) and Shafali Verma (32 run from 35 balls) started slowly in the chase before Sadia Iqbal dismissed Smriti Mandhana in the 5th over when the score reached just 18.

Shafali Verma (32 run from 35 balls) , Jemimah Rodrigues (23 runs from 28 balls) and Harmanpreet Kaur (29* from 24 balls) innings took India home. Harmanpreet retired hurt after facing discomfort with her neck while trying to play a lofted shot off Nida Dar.

Sajeevan Sajna hit the boundary on first ball she faced and finishes the game for India.
