All-rounder Deandra Dottin returns to West Indies squad for the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to begin on October 3rd in UAE.

Dottin had surprisingly retired from International cricket in 2022 citing reservations with the team environment. She reversed her decision in July this year with an eye to play the upcoming T20 world cup.

Dottin was the first women to score a T20I international century during a T20 world cup match against South Africa.

Nerissa Crafton is the only uncapped player in 15 member West Indies team captained by all-rounder Hayley Matthews.

“We have a nice mix of experience and youth. We have some players bordering (on) 19; I think Zaida is still probably a teenager and one or two of the young players there. So really happy with the mix. Also I think , we all as West Indians are excited to see Deandra Dottin back.

“It has been a year of communication-back and forth – with Deandra, and I particularly want to recognize the involvement of Ann Browne-John who has led those conversations over the last year , even when she wasn’t officially the selector. She was integral in Deandra coming out of retirement,” said Kishore Shallow , Cricket West Indies President.

West Indies placed in Group B alongside Bangladesh , South Africa , England and Scotland. They will begin their campaign against South Africa on October 4th in Dubai.
