Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) appoints former India fielding coach, R Sridhar as assistant coach.

Sridhar will join the team now for the one-off test against Newzeland and 3 match ODI series against South Africa.

“The Afghanistan Cricket Board wish Sridhar fills the role effectively and hope to have long term contract with him in the future,” the ACB said in a statement.

Former left arm spinner served National Cricket Academy as an assistant fielding and spin bowling coach from 2008 to 2014. He was also an assistant coach for the 2014 India under-19 World Cup squad.

He was part of India men’s cricket team from 2014 to 2021 under Ravi Shastri as fielding coach. He also worked with IPL team Punjab Kings as their spin bowling coach from 2014 to 2017.
