Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry gave Australia a solid start after skipper Alyssa Healy fell early for just five. Kranti Goud clean bowled Australia’s captain, giving India the crucial first breakthrough in the semi final clash.

A 155 run second wicket stand between Litchfield and Perry placed Australia in a strong commanding position.
Litchfield (119 runs from 93 balls) made history by becoming the youngest to score a century in a Women’s World Cup knockout.She is also Australia’s second youngest centurion. Amanjot Kaur finally sent her back to the pavilion ending her brilliant innings.
Ellyse Perry scored a fine half century and was eventually dismissed by Radha Yadhav after a well made 77. Indian bowlers were able to pick wickets at regular intervals towards the final stage of the innings.
Ashleigh Gardner’s quickfire 63 off 45 balls helped Australia post a huge total of 338 runs.

Shree Charani impressed for India, taking 2 wickets for 49 runs in her 10 overs.
Deepti Sharma (2/73 in 9.5 overs) , Amanjot Kaur (1/51 in 8 overs) , Kranti Gaud (1/58 in 6 overs) and Radha Yadhav (1/66 in 8 overs) are the other wicket takers for India.
India Innings
Chasing 339, India lost Shafali for 10 and in-form Smriti Mandhana for 24 within the first 10 overs. Kim Garth dismissed both India openers.
Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur kept India in the chase with a brilliant 167 run partnership for the third wicket. India captain Harmanpreet rose to the occasion, scoring 89 off 88 balls before falling to Annabel Sutherland.
Struck her first World Cup century, Jemimah kept India’s chase alive with a brilliant and composed knock. She produced one of the greatest knocks in history of the Women’s World Cup. Jemimah remins unbeaten on 127* from 134 balls to help India cross the line.
Deepti Sharma (24 runs from 17 balls) , Richa Ghosh (26 runs from 16 balls) and Amanjot Kaur (15* runs from 8 balls) also played crucial knocks.
Finally India scripted biggest run chase in history to storm into the Women’s World Cup.
Two drop catches of Jemimah Rodrigues by Australian fielders also one of the turning point of the match.
