Lords test in balance after first innings ended in tie

The first innings of third test at Lords between India and England ended in tie. Both teams bowled out for 387 and it’s only the ninth time in test history it happened. K.L.Rahul’s(100 runs from 177 balls) ninth test century was the highlight of Indian innings.

K.L.Rahul and Rishabh Pant resumed the Indian innings on day 3 almost batted the whole session to put India in a position of strength. Both put together 141 runs from 198 balls for the fourth wicket before Bens Stokes direct throw at non strikers end ended Pant innings in the last over before lunch. At lunch India were 248/4.

India lost K.L.Rahul quickly in post lunch session after he hit his 9th test century. K.L.Rahul edged a slow , flighted delivery of Shoaib Bashir to slip while he tried to hit ball to an open space.

Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy took the Indian innings forward till tea. During their partnership both involved in a few instances of poor running between the wickets which created some tense moments and Nitish kumar Reddy was lucky in most occasion.

Ben Stokes beautiful delivery ended Nitish Kumar Reddy (30 runs from 91 balls) innings when he was trying to build a huge partnership with Jadeja. Both added 72 runs for the sixth wicket. Ravindra Jadeja (72 runs from 131 balls) continued his good form with the bat with another half century and his knock comes to an end when he edged one on the legside off Chris Woakes.

Once again England wrapped up Indian tail quickly by picking 4 wickets for just 11 runs. No advantage for any team after first innings as both bowled out for 387. Allrounder Washington Sundar scored 23 runs from 76 balls.

Engalnd were 2/0 at the end of day 3 after high drama final over by Bumrah.
