Rajasthan Royals beat Punjab Kings convincingly by 50 runs in Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium , Mullanpur Chandigarh. Batted first , Rajasthan Royals set Punjab Kings 206 run target and restricted them to 155/9 in 20 overs.

Rajasthan Royals openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (67 runs from 45 balls) and Sanju Samson (38 runs from 26 balls) scored 89 runs for the opening wicket before Lockie Ferguson dismissed Samson in the 11^th over.

Jaiswal played a brillant innings of 67 runs from 45 balls which includes 3 fours and 5 sixes which helps them to reach 205 in 20 overs. Riyan Parag (43* runs from 25 balls) , Shimron Hetymer (20 runs from 12 balls) and Dhruv Jurel (13* runs from 5 balls) also played useful knock for Rajasthan.

Lockie Ferguson (2/37 in 4 overs) , Arshdeep Singh (1/35 in 4 overs) and Marco Jansen (1/45 in 4 overs) are the wicket takers for Punjab Kings.

Punjab Kings lost Priyansh Arya who came as impact player in the first ball of the chase and captain Shreyas Iyer (10 runs from 5 balls) in the last ball of the first over bowled by Jofra Archer.

Rajasthan Royals picked Marcus Stoinis (1 run from 7 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (17 runs from 16 balls) also cheaply to further push Punjab to 43/4 in 6.2 overs.

Nehal Wadhera (62 runs from 41 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (30 runs from 21 balls) kept them in the game with 88 run partnership from 52 balls for the fifth wicket. Wadhera hit 4 fours and 3 sixes in his knock of 62.

Punjab kings lost both Glenn Maxwell and Nehal Wadhera in successive deliveries and lost the momentum in chase. In last 6 overs they scored only 34 runs for the loss of 6 wickets.
