South Africa beat England comfortably by 7 wickets and qualified for the semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025. They bowled out England for 179 and chased down the target in 29.1 overs with 7 wickets remaining.

Elected to bat first England lost Phil Salt (8 runs from 6 balls) , Jamie Smith (0 runs from 3 balls) and Ben Duckett (24 runs from 21 balls) in the powerplay. All wickets in the first powerplay took by left arm pacer Marco Jansen.

Joe Root (37 runs from 44 balls) and Harry Brook (19 runs from 29 balls) brought England back with 62 run partnership from 61 balls. England lost both batters in quick succession. Keshav Maharaj dismissed Harry Brook and Mulder clean bowled Joe Root.

Jos Buttler (21 runs from 43 balls) and Jofra Archer (25 runs from 31 balls) dragged England to 179.

Marco Jansen rattled England top order by dismissing the top three batters. He finishes his spell with figures of 3/39 in 7 overs. Wiaan Mulder picked 3 wickets for 25 runs in his 7.2 overs.

Keshav Maharaj (2/35 in 10 overs) , Lungi Ngidi (1/33 in 7 overs) and Kagiso Rabada (1/42 in 7 overs) are the other wicket takers for South Africa.

Pacer Jofra Archer dismissed both the opener Tristan Stubbs for without scoring and Ryan Rickelton after got a decent start of 27 runs from 25 balls.

Rassie van der Dussen (72* runs from 87 balls) and Heinrich Klassen (64 runs from 56 balls) innings helped South Africa to chase down the target in 29.1 overs. Both added 127 runs from 122 balls for the third wicket.

Jofra Archer (2/55 in 9 overs) and Adil Rashid (1/37 in 7 overs) are the wicket takers for England.
